The clip I chose is from The Dark Knight and it features Heath Ledger as the Joker and Christian Bale as Batman/Bruce Wayne.

Although The Dark Knight isn’t really my favorite movie, Heath Ledger’s incredible acting in various different scenes definitely elevated its position in my own little “top 10 movies of all time” list.

Anyway, back to the clip.  Like I said, Heath Ledger was INCREDIBLE in the movie and in this specific clip that I chose, but I think Bale (the actor who played Batman) was also very good. The clothes and set were very well prepared and although as far as I know there weren’t any special effects used (not really my expertise), the background music fit the scene perfectly and I didn’t find anything to criticise about the editing or the directing. The only thing that I didn’t like was Batman’s voice but I think that’s only barely worth mentioning as the action still looks epic.

Watching the clip usually makes me sad as it pretty much stars my favorite actor, Heath Ledger, who died a little before The Dark Knight’s premiere.

Thanks for reading!

Never Back Down is a 2008 action film starring Sean Faris, Amber Heard, Cam Gigandet, and Djimon Hounsou. The film’s tagline is “Win or lose… Everyone has their fight.” I don`t like so much fighting movies, but I like this film so much! The film tells of young people who want to fight and win, the plot is really good.

High school age young people organize fight events. Where purpose is to win everybody. Rules are: not to bite, and into the eye not be touched. Two boys turns on cockfighting of Amber Heard, and the winner gets to keep her. Battle scenes are done really well and skillfully and the battle scenes is no at all raw. The end is very exciting and unpredictable. So I recommend to watch this movie. Film is made to Part 2, which is far from good. It’s just a cheap copy of the first. I do not recommend it to look.

If you want to be the best, you have to beat the best ;)

Edward Scissorhands is a romantic fantasy film by Tim Burton, reminicent of Frankenstein, in which an elderly inventor attempts to teach a machine how to be a human. In a castle high on top of a hill lives an inventor’s greatest creation – Edward, a near-complete person. The inventor dies before he can finish, leaving the “young man” with scissors for hands. The boy is left alone until a kind lady called Peg, finds him and takes him to live with her in Florida’s suburbia. At first, “Edward” is popular, but then he falls for Peg’s daughter, Kim.  The film can allso be seen as being influenced by Beauty and the beast.  There’s alot of similarities to Burton’s other films, such as: Edward is found living alone in the attic of a Gothic castle, a setting that is allso used for main characters in Burton’s Batman and The nightmare before christmas. The wardrobe choices in this film are perfect in my opinion. They don’t overpower the characters, but are still interesting enough. The clothes are more costume-like than regular everyday-clothes. The settings are straight out of a storybook, but in a dark twisted way.

In this scene Kim (played by Winona Ryder) has left her jock boyfriend (Jim) to be with Edward (Johnny Depp), an event that many have assumed as Burton’s revenge against jocks he faced as a teenager. Burton referred to this scene as a “high school fantasy”.

Kim finally confesses her love for Edward and  lies to the townspeople that Edward and Jim killed each other in the fight. Kim has to leave Edward to protect him by covering up his crime. It is obvious to both of them that this is the last time they’ll see each other. Edward Scissorhands ends like a fairytale book, by  Kim Boggs as an old woman telling her granddaughter the story.

Having Winona play the leading female role alongside her then-boyfriend Johnny Depp created depth to the film. They are both brilliant actors and can really display emotion with such small gestures.

Like in all Burton’s films the musical scene is hauntingly beautifull. The film is actually the fourth feature collaboration between Burton and composer Danny Elfman. Both Burton and Elfman consider Edward Scissorhands to be their most personal and favorite work.

The scene and the whole movie leaves you with that empty feeling you get after watching a great movie.

The scene I picked for this assignment comes from one of my all-time favorite movies – Ten Inch Hero.

Ten Inch Hero is a 2007 David Mackay independent film starring, among others, Elizabeth Harnois, Danneel Harris, Jensen Ackles and Clea DuVall. It was only released for smaller audiences – on DVD and in digital form. Not many people know it, and I can’t help but be saddened by that fact, because they don’t know what they’re missing. Ten Inch Hero is simply brilliant.

While having its fair share of comedy, that’s not the only genre this film would fit into. It’s not as cheerful and carefree as it appears at a first glance – each of the characters has their secrets, issues, things they deny and have to get over. The main philosophy is taking the old saying “Don’t judge a book by its cover” and twisting it to fit many different, real-life situations.

The scene I picked, however, does showcase the comedy. It’s bordering on crude, actually, but I’ll take the chance. I have cut this particular scene out of the movie on my computer and carry it around in my phone, in my iPod, anywhere I go, really, because the effect it has on me is enormous. By the time the three-odd minutes of it are up, I always find myself laughing. It never fails to lift my spirits and make me forget about whatever problems I might be having. I’m not entirely sure why – it’s the combination of simple comedy delivered by my favorite actor and the familiarity I feel whenever I watch it. My computer says I’ve watched Ten Inch Hero thirty-seven times, and I never get bored. It always feels like coming home.

I hope I’m not going to come across too biased while analyzing the performances in this particular scene. Jensen Ackles is really one of my favorites, or possibly the most favorite actor of mine, and I love every single TV show and movie he’s ever shot (including cheesy 90’s soap operas). Anyway – I’ve always loved the performance he gives as Priestly in this movie. In this and every other scene, I find his facial expressions and body language either perfectly hilarious or accordingly dramatic; his ‘sarcastic eyebrows’ leave me in tears of laughter every time. As for Danneel Harris (now Ackles – they’re married! A little piece of trivia for you) as Priestly’s colleague Tish, I think her acting flows easily; she’s also very pleasant to listen to, for some reason, I really like her voice. She definitely gets extra points from me for acting a scene with a phone – I couldn’t even make a call without getting tangled in the cord.

When it comes to wardrobe, props and setting, I think the creators did a brilliant job with what little budget they had. There aren’t many stages set up – a big part of the film takes place inside a sandwich shop, we see a grocery store and about two different houses, plus a beach that was rented out for the filming; that’s all. It doesn’t really affect the movie at all in a way you’d think it would – it just feels nice, cozy and familiar. It takes place in Santa Cruz, but was filmed in San Pedro, and the exterior settings are just…warm and summer-y. What you have to love most about the wardrobe are Priestly’s t-shirts.

The soundtrack is right up my alley as well. The title song is Feeling a Moment by Feeder, which had me hooked after hearing the first ten seconds. Other songs include more rock, some surfer tunes and a few romantic ballads, and, surprisingly, they work together to create a great atmosphere.

All in all, if you’re able to find it, I definitely recommend watching Ten Inch Hero. In my opinion, it could easily top most so-called “romcoms” out there while having a lot more class than a simple young adult comedy. There’s mysteries to be unfolded and secrets to be discovered!

Having shouted “this is Sparta!”, Leonidas (the guy with a huge beard) kicks Persian messenger into the pit and creates a new internet phenomenon. The scene is from an action movie called 300 from the year 2007. I remember watching this movie first time with my childhood friend and it was awesome back then. I don’t mean it wouldn’t be awesome now but after seeing the movie and all the parodies countless times you just can’t hold back your laugh when you see the actual scene.

Having stated earlier, this scene or rather “this is Sparta!” has become an internet phenomenon. To notice this you need to just say somewhere on the internet “this is madness” and there’s always someone who answers “madness? This is Sparta!”, there’re also multiple parodies. All the actors perform very well in this scene and in the whole movie in my opinion. The way how the actors put their heart and soul into their roles is amazing. The music is dramatic as it should be and it fits into the scene, therefore there’s no need for any special effects. All the settings, props and wardrobes are as they should be, they’ve been created, placed and executed well. Seeing the scene multiple times lets your eyes wander a bit and spot some minor mistakes which probably could’ve been avoided.

The film has been shot very well in my opinion. Technology has been exploited very well by the director. You really can’t spot any major acting/cut mistakes in the film unless if you’re precisely looking for them. The scene brought back some good old memories and for that it’s one of the best scenes you can find!

Marley & Me is published in 2008 and it is a comedy-drama movie. It was directed by David Frankel. The movie tells Labrador retriever Marley’s story in Grogans family. Marley and Me tells about couple John (Owen Wilson) and Jenny (Jennifer Aniston) Grogan and their lovely Labrador retriever, Marley. Marley is an energetic and boisterous dog, who was very important for Jenny and John, and later also their children. Marley was his whole life really loved for the family. The movie is so nice, funny and also emotional. It tells us how important a pet could be for the owners. Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson are very good, and they match very well for the roles.  Marley’s “actor” Jonah did a great job on the movie, the dog was amazing! During the movie you may cry a lot, it is funny, but still so sad at the end. It is like a true story. I can recommend this film to all who like humor with a drama!!!

This movie is an American/ British drama and it was released in 2006. Movie is i by Danny Cannon and starred by Kuno Becker, Alessandro Nivola and Stephen Dillane.

Story is about Santiago Munez who is a skilled footballer. He is the son of a gardener who lives in a barrio section of Los Angeles and illegally entered the USA from Mexico ten years earlier. Besides gardening with his father, he works as a bus boy in a Chinese restaurant. He has this impossible dream to become a professional footballer. He lives with his brother, grandmother and father, as his mom has left the family for unknown reason that just father knows. He has no support from his father at all.

I think everybody should watch this movie, because it teaches how you should never give up and stop believing and always work and do ANYTHING to accomplish the dream. Impossible is nothing.

I love this movie! It is funny, touching, sad, happy, beautiful, ugly, exiting all this at same time. I have watched it many times and yes I am going to watch it again sometimes, because every time I watch it the same feelings goes trough me.

Father vs Santiago ( The scene) Click here

I chose this scene because here you can clearly see what does Santiago’s father thinks about the dream. I think it is very sad, it brings out some weird feelings in me every time. I have a father also who doesn’t really care about my dream and doesn’t support my football that much. I think that’s the reason why I found this scene so sad and touching….

So really people watch this movie I promise it will make you work harder for your dream!

About the actors, I think that Kuno Becker is not the best actor to lead movie like this because you can clearly see in the movie he can’t play football. I think someone who really plays football would have been better.
Music in the movie is really good, it brings your feeling even more out.

It looks like there is some problem with the embedded video. I’ll try to upload it as soon as possible.

This is the more sincere and true scene I’ve ever seen in a serial or in a film. Death here is presented to us how it really is: unexpected, unannounced. Sarah Michelle Gellar, portraying Buffy, puts out an amazing performance here that allows us to understand exactly what the character is feeling in the whole scene. The producer, Joss Whedon, personally experienced the death of his mother and this that must be why what  is on screen is incredibly powerful. He uses different ploys in the production of this episode to strike the audience, like the complete absence of music. Whedon transports the audience into the negative space that is creating around the death of Joyce, portrayed by Kristine Sutherland. The silence also increases the power of the sounds of the life that just carries on in front of Buffy’s eyes, like if nothing happened. We are also taken away from the pain of this scenario for a few seconds by two digressions, but the cruelty of reality strike us, pushing us back in that living room with Buffy and her dead mother.

In 1994 released glamorous vampire movie “Interview With a Vampire” is a film filled with passion, fear, drama and most of all emotions. It’s about a young man named Louis (Brad Pitt) who has lost almost everything. A vampire named Lestat (Tom Cruise) takes a liking to Louis and makes him choose between life as a vampire or death. And not until his decision is already made, does Louis realize what he has become. He refuses to take human life and is about to leave when Lestat turns a little orphan girl Claudia (Kirsten Dunst) into a vampire to make Louis stay.

This scene is one of my absolute favorites. It shows exactly what the relationship between the three of them is like. The acting is almost perfect. It seems like they’re made for their roles, especially Kirsten. Despite the lousy special effects the whole movie is truly beautiful along the setting and costumes. This entire scene is full of strong emotions. Kirsten’s outstanding performance causes the shivers and it deserves a big round of applause.

This is a comedy/sci-fi/adventure movie directed by Robert Zemeckis in 1989. The story tells about a boy who travels in time with a time machine invented by his friend Dr. Emmet Brown.During the time travelling there happen a lot of mistakes wich may have an affect on the future.
This movie is very exciting , full of interesting actions and situations.
This is one of my favourite films and every time I re watch it I get more and more surprised. Marty and his girlfriend get surprised when Dr.Emmet Brown arrives by “the flying Delorean” to tell them what is gonna happening in the future to Marty’s and his girlfriend’s son.
On my opinion the actors of this movie are very good and professional and they perfectly act their role. I like especially the role of Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) because he’s able to be mysterious and funny in his own style. Particularly in this part of movie the special effects are used quite much and not uselessly.
The soundtracks of this film are well placed , they are not too exaggerated despite the “serious” events , and in many situations for example in the beginning of movie,  the shy and mysterious music is a great idea.
I love the way the director has shot the movie , I think it’s almost perfect. There is all that a film has to have , it’s varied with comedy, action and sci-fi scenes.

“In Time” is an American science fiction action film, which was released in 2011. I picked this scene because it is one of the most exciting moments in this movie.

The main thing in this movie is, that people live in “Time Zones” and they don’t use money at all: after age of 25, they start to earning their lifetime; by doing work, they get a wage as days of lifetime, and by buying a coffee, for example, it costs half an hour of their lifetime.

Justin Timberlake do amazing job as a main part, acting poor Will Salas from the ghettos of Dayton. Timberlake exceeds my expectations; I have always considered him as an artist, so it was great surprise to notice that he can also convince as an actor.

Also the other main part, beautiful, rich, businessman’s daughter Sylvia Weis (Amanda Seyfried) is impressive in her role. She is kind, polite and civilized girl, who gets everything she wants. But when Sylvia meets Will Salas, she starts revolting against her father, who has a lifetime for forever.

I liked the wardrobe on this film: especially Sylvia’s costumes in the movie are illustrating well her state as a civilized, serene, filthy rich girl. Also the set is doing well. It is easy to divide the slums and ghettos of Dayton and poor “Time Zones”, from the New Greenwich’s expensive districts.

This scene has a glamour, suspension and, of course, a poker table. Will Salas  plays poker with Sylvia’s father, Philippe Weis (Vincent Kartheiser), and when he has only one second to spare on his “lifetime clock”, he wins 1,100 years in the process.

Black Swan is a psychological thriller horror film about a girl called Nina Sayers (Natalie Portman) whose dream is to get a role of a big ballet play, Swan Lake. She’s striving to be perfect.  Nina’s supposed to play two characters which are the opposite of each other. The director tells her that she is perfect for the “white swan”, a good one, but she needs practice for the bad one “black swan”.

Getting to the end Nina looks like she really is turning into a real swan. Actually that is just representing the way she is changing, from the good girl who she was taught to be, to someone she assumes the world wants her to be. With many different parties pushing her to her limits and pressuring her to “be more this and this” to be able to do the role of the black swan as well, she starts to lose her mind.

Natalie Portman did amazing job in the scene and the whole movie. Her movements and her whole appearance suit the sensual character perfectly.

The scene of the movie also looks amazing. The set, the costumes, the lighting and make up… It all looks scary but tempting, making you want to see more, just like a movie of this genre should. The soundtrack is really beautiful too, suiting the movie more than perfectly.

Overall, Black Swan is just a phenomenal movie and I totally recommend it to everyone.

Forrest Gump is a legendary movie from 1994. It tells about a man with a sluggish but heartwarming character. Forrest Gump tells his life story to other people while he is sitting on a bus stop.  He has witnessed many historical moments during his life but because he is pretty simple in his thoughts he has not understood the important events he has been part of nor how notable persons he has met. That is an essential part of this movie.  Tom Hanks acted as Forrest Gump and I think that he was a perfect choice for that role. He suited very well in this movie because he is such a sympathetic character.

The composer in this movie is Alan Silvestri. The music in this movie fits very well into different scenes. It helps to get into the movie and it leads your emotions.

I remember since I was little this “run, Forrest run!”- scene because it was a really impressive scene for a little girl who watched it amazed. I feel sorry for Forrest Gump that those other boys bullied him. Forrest is so sympathetic and kind. I would definitely want my child to be more like Forrest instead of those other boys. In my opinion, that is kind of a “common story” of how the underdog reaches something big. I think that Forrest showed to everyone that he can do whatever he wants even tough no one believed in him. That shows to everyone that you should never stop believing even if you are the only one.

Moulin Rouge is hands down one of my favorite movies. Why? Well, firstly, it’s a musical. Secondly the plot is so good. And then of course the actor choices. I mean – who knew that Nicole Kidman could actually sing? I didn’t, but I sure do now.

Time, love and chance, three words that are really valuable.

‘If only’ is a romantic drama movie which is about Ian’s (Paul Nicholls) and Samantha’s (Jennifer Love Hewit) dramatic love story. The successful businessman unfortunately doesn’t know nor see the chance of having a girl who loves him more. On the verge of breaking up with Ian, Samantha gets into a serious car accident just in front of the helpless Ian, who, was too late to admit his feelings for her and lost his only chance he had,or did he? Second chances are rare in life but Ian,was given that gift to prove his love to Samantha, when suddenly the next morning he wakes up and finds her next to him and everything was just going like a replay. What was really happening? Was that a dream? Was that a second chance? And the question is, would he do the right choice this time?

Here is the scene of the car crash in which Samantha unfortunately got into. This particular 5-minute-sequel from the movie has everything to make someone go through different emotions at the same time. Firstly, my sadness went to the start of that scene showing, how Samantha was clearly going through a very difficult moment when she sees that even after doing so much for the man she loved, she was still being considered not as the main priority for him. I considered Jennifer as an amazing talented actress when I saw the tears in her eyes at the perfect moments, the loud breathing, the shivering of her lips and the expressions of her eyes when gazing at Ian, as if I could see her heart crying.

Then Samantha left the restaurant, took the taxi and got in so as to leave Ian who was  trying to convince her to stay at all cost. The taxi driver looked at him and with a little smile in his face, he said ‘In or out my friend?’. This, did not mean if he will get inside the taxi or stay out but instead this meant whether he wanted to be with her or let her go forever. The music completely fit that part of the departure of the taxi which was a simple piano solo playing slowly and giving more emotions.

Slowly,Ian watched the taxi slowly moving away when suddenly, coming from nowhere, a car crashed into the taxi Samantha was in, and got her seriously injured. Shocked and lost, he watched the damaged car and he couldn’t process what just happened. It was so hard for him to accept the fact which just took place in front of him. Then his expressions changed from guilty into fear and he started running towards the taxi fearing the worst. The screaming and shouting, the music and other sound effects around made the scene more dramatic and touching. The sudden change of the place (in the scene), in a brief second from the accident place to the hospital was a good combination. The director made a really good work in the part where Ian runs in the hallway of the hospital, the musical scores, and the screaming still echoing on the background, both showing how time goes so fast, how things can change in a matter of seconds and also how life can change anytime and at any moment.

(I truly recommend watching this touching movie, it makes you realize what you really have and it makes you understand how grateful you should be. How much you should appreciate the things you have before it’s gone. At least it made me feel like that.)

Here is still a trailer made from the movie for you to get the whole picture.

This is a scene from the movie 8 mile. The movie tells about a boy in his twentys called ´´Rabbit´´.
Rabbit lives a poor life and one way to express himself is to rap. He often battles against other rappers and this is one of those batlles. It´s the final rap battle in an underground rap contest.

I am not sure what genre this movie is but it´s a lot of fun, drama and entertaining. This scene makes me wanna rap to although I am not particulary good at it. I think Eminem did a great job in this movie. As you can see acting is very good, the expressions on his face and voice use are surely professional. The lyrics in the raps are also very entertaining and bright.
There are only little special effects used in this movie, but the camera angle and the background shadowing etc, are really giving you that poor neighbourhood feeling. The music very good I think although I am not the biggest hip/hop rap fanatic. The lyrics are all over the movie incredibly creative and quite easy to follow.

I hope you enjoy/enjoyed the scene (:

Friendship is one thing that no matter how strong we are, we will never be able to live without it. ’Kite Runner’, is one of the movie that I could not wait to see when it was release as i was so passionate and fell for the words when I read its book which is based on Historical fiction and drama. In fact, my patience was not in vain as each seconds, my eyes did not want to blink as not to miss anything from this brilliant movie.
Choosing a particular scene from it would be impossible as from start to the end, I was deep into another world. In my opinion, this movie is not of type to relax and enjoy with refreshments but instead try to see the real messages of life that is being transmitted through it. The part that really gave me shivering is the scene entitled as ‘Letters from the sky’, where Amir ( Khalid Abdalla)  came back to Afghanistan to look for his closest and best friend Hassan (Ahmad Khan Mahmoodzada)  after a very long time, who meant so much in his heart.
When he arrives home, he gets his shock of his life when he heard from the Hassan’s (Ahmad Khan Mahmoodzada)  father that his best friend was killed and was dead and that unfortunately His best friend’s son was abducted and taken away by the Taliban, who are the bad people .he got to write a letter to Amir ( Khaled Abdalla) hoping that one day he would come back and look for him. And as soon as he opened the letter and started reading it, tears feel down from his eyes .From that view, I was so emotional seeing that he is a man who is not crying for a relative not even a woman he loved but just for another man who was not even brother by blood but a brother in his heart.
Then After reading the letter, he saw the picture of his friend as a little boy and all of a sudden, he just get flashbacks of himself, a little boy ,who was not rich, with no education with simple clothes ,living in a poor country ,having nothing modern or sophisticated, just him and his friend ,their imagination ,their freedom and most important their incredible friendship.
There the director used as background a village in a kind of dessert just to show how life is for poor people and also the music fit completely as he used a simple piano notes as instrument and a man singing really with a high tone expressing his deep sadness through his voice which bring a sad music along with a deep voice. This is the scene, which according to me have the most emotional in the movie and made my heart shattered with sadness, I would recommend this movie to anyone as I want people to be aware that Friendship is not something get and give, but it is something you must earn and protect no matter what. Here is a trailer of the trailer of the full movie to understand more.
